PORTRAITS FROM AN ISLAND
Wendy McMurdo is a British artist who specialises in photography and digital media. She attended Edinburgh College of Art, Goldsmiths, University of London and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York where she first became interested in photography.
Her work explores the ways in which developments in technology directly impact on the ways we both picture and describe ourselves. Since the 1990s she has documented and explored the ways in which we have slowly evolved into the networked, social beings we are today
For over a decade, she has focussed on childhood as a continuing theme in her work
